Welcome!

My name is Holly Young, and I am a Certified Transactional Analyst (TA), an experienced psychotherapist specializing in Transactional Analysis as my primary therapeutic modality. I am registered with UKATA, EATA, and UKCP.

If you’re unfamiliar with Transactional Analysis, please click here to learn more. To find out more about me, please click here.

My practice is grounded in congruence, attunement, and creating a therapeutic environment that enables individuals to deepen their self-awareness and enhance their connections with both themselves and others.

I integrate somatic work into my practice, linking bodily sensations, body awareness, internal dialogue, and Ego States (see TA section for more details).

Each person who seeks therapy brings their own unique way of being in the world, often shaped by unconscious decisions made before the age of 7. These early decisions were adaptive, helping us feel a sense of belonging in our families and communities.

The challenges that bring us to therapy are often best understood when we explore the original decisions we made and how they may be impacting us in the present. As we gain this insight, you will have the choice to either hold onto those early decisions or, if they no longer serve you, work with me to create new choices that feel more aligned with the person you are today.

I believe in the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship. Change happens through this relationship, and therapy is a collaborative process where both the client and I are equally involved. With the tools and models I provide, and a deeper understanding of your unique patterns and beliefs, our work together empowers you to create the changes you desire.

I trained with Transactional Analysis Cymru (TAC) in the picturesque mountains of Bryn Berian and continue to support TAC’s training as an Emergent Learning Facilitator. For this reason, I am unable to work with current TAC trainees or those planning to train with TAC.

While Transactional Analysis is my primary modality, I also draw from other ideas and teachings that resonate with me. I have a particular interest in trauma, neurodiversity, body and somatic work.

I work with a range of issues, and people including:-

  • parents of children who are neurodivergent, have learning difficulties or children with illness or disability
  • birth related issues
  • clients who are autistic, ADHD, dyslexic
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • Trauma
  • Relationship challenges
